LORD PROCTOR

I’m a designer from Oslo, with a background in visual design and UX. I have always been fascinated by people and the ways in which attitudes and behaviors are shaped. This curiosity has guided my academic journey and fueled my passion for design. My dream is to be able to use my interest and my skills to design solutions that make it easy to do good.

Yes, Lord is my actual first name, assigned at birth. I know that you can purchase land in Scotland to gain the title of “Lord”. No, I did not do that. And yes, it would indeed be fun if I became “Lord Lord.”

How can design challenge cultural norms? Hei is a social dining concept and cultural venue, offering exciting drinks and dishes for sharing — all inspired by Norwegian culinary tradition. Its goal is to challenge what and how we eat, when we eat Norwegian food. This goal is reflected in the visual identity, which itself, seeks to challenge the conventional Norwegian visuals. It does so by leveraging new associations for Norwegian cuisine by taking a step away from traditional national romanticism and minimalist nordic design. The identity draws inspiration from homemade recipe typography, extends it to illustrations, and incorporates imagery and ToV from Norwegian social life from decades past; reminding ourselves of the warmth that exists in our culture. The project received a silver award at Gullkalven, Norway‘s biggest student award for creative communication.
